Serving the community is vital to the Scarab Club.  Through exhibitions, classes, lectures, poetry readings and concerts, the organization strives to offer a diverse array of cultural activities that will inspire the creative spirit.

Providing opportunities to area youth is one way the Scarab Club gives back to the community.

Summer Youth Training Program

Through a partnership with the City of Detroit Recreation Department and Arts Place of Detroit the organizations together offered a  “Summer Youth Training Program”.  Three floors of the building were filled with young musicians, dancers, and vocalists preparing for a final recital at Wayne State University.  Plans for another summer program in 2009 are in the works with a similar structure and focus.

Internships

The Scarab Club offers internships for local students. The goal ultimately is to broaden their contact and experience with the greater arts community and help them enhance their resumes and portfolios.  Internships are offered throughout the year.

Scarab Scholar

We are currently  in the process of developing a scholarship program for the 2009 calendar year.
